PhD Admissions

For PhD application at the Department of Chemistry, applicants are encouraged to use online application form from the main admissions page of IIT Kanpur. Only candidates with a M. Sc. degree and a valid GATE/CSIR/INSPIRE/UGC/UGC-LS score are eligible to apply. For more details regarding the application, eligibility, fees are available at the following link. Details about research activities, facilities etc are available at our home page or in the online Brochure of the department.

Applicants are required to carefully fill-up the online form. Any errors or discrepancies during the form submission should be immediately notified to the contact below. In other hand these applications could result in disqualification.

The candidates shortlisted for PhD selection will be required to appear for an interview in the department. Shortlisted candidates will be intimated by email and post and the list of shortlisted candidates will be put up on this website. Ph. D. interview for the academic year 2018-19 will be held tentatively by the mid May 2018.

B.Sc/M.Sc

Admissions to Bachelors program

Students completing high school are eligible to be selected for the 4 year Bachelor of Science program in Chemistry with an option of an Master of Science. The candidates are selected through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) of the IITs. More details about the program can be obtained at the admissions website of IIT Kanpur.

Admissions to Master of Science Program

Students completing their bachelors in Chemistry are eligible to be selected for the 2 year Master of Science program in Chemistry. The candidates are selected through the Joint Admission Test to MSc (JAM) of the IITs. More details about the program can be obtained at the admissions website of IIT Kanpur.
