Applications are invited for the following temporary & contractual post to work as Project Associate in the project "Facility Management of Computer Labs". The details of the position and required qualification and experience of applicant are given below:

Post: Project Associate (04)

Minimum Qualification: B. Tech (CS/IT/EEE/EC) or M.Sc. (CS/IT).

Desirable Qualification and Experience:

  • The candidate should have experience over 2 years as Linux administrator or knowledge of web development and software design in Perl and HTML. Knowledge of LDAP server, samba server and web server. Knowledge of handling or creating databases like MySQL would be an added advantage.
  • Update/modify/install software/patches on large number of computers in a short time via scripting/cloning or other techniques
  • Technical Expertise in Software & Hardware Troubleshooting.

Nature of work:

The candidate’s tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Technical expertise in Linux and Windows.
  • Knowledge to join Linux/Windows Client to LDAP/AD server for user authentication.
  • Deploying web server, FTP, samba server
  • Basic Bash shell scripting
  • System Management using Ansible or other tools in Windows/Linux
  • Linux installation (RHEL, Centos, Ubuntu) using PXE server and G4L
  • Software and Patch Management
  • Software development, Maintenance and Database administration using web technology, MySQL, Oracle, Perl, HTML, JAVA Script.
  • Knowledge in Software & Hardware Troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for image creation of Windows & Linux by using G4L/Clonezilla etc.
  • Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of printers
  • Installation and maintenance of specialized software like AutoCAD, Aspen, EViews, MATLAB, STATA, SPSS.

Salary: Rs 18000-1500-45000 (consolidated) based on qualification and experience

Duration of appointment: one year (maybe extend based on performance and requirement).

Number of positions: Four (4)

Please note that the labs operate from 8AM to 2AM on all days including Saturdays and Sundays except on some selected holidays as declared. The selected persons would be required to work in day shift (8AM to 5PM) or night shift (5PM to 2AM).
