Applications are invited for the position of Project scientist for SERB-funded project at the Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK).

1. Project Scientist: (01)

M. Sc. + 5 year experience in handling of clinical samples or Ph.D. in allied Life Sciences.

Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates having Minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying exam.

At least 5 years of research experience in Clinical cancer research, especially handling cancer biopsies samples, mammalian cell culture, maintenance of mouse colonies, cell and molecular biology applications after Masters in an academic institutions/research & development organization may apply. The candidate should have hands-on experience of techniques like DNA/RNA Isolation, SNP Genotyping, RT-PCR, microRNA-based assays and immunohistochemistry on clinical patients' samples. Should be well conversant with spoken & written English.

Salary range: Rs. 22,000 - 2200 - 44,000 (Rs. 28,600/ month consolidated).

This position is purely temporary for one year and based on the performance extendable further until duration of project or 5 years whichever is earlier.
