Applications are invited for the following temporary & contractual post to work as Project Engineer in the project “FMS operations in CC”. The details of the project, position and required qualification and experience of applicant are given below:

About the Project:
This is an Institute funded project to provide Facility Management Services to 10 Labs in the New Core Building, Drawing Hall and IME Building. The labs operate from 8 AM to 2 AM on all days including Saturdays and Sundays except on some select holidays as declared. Each lab would have a technical person deployed to look after the software maintenance, ensure proper usage of the lab and do other activities as instructed by the lab in-charge.

Minimum Qualification: B.Tech + 3 years experience

Desirable Qualification and Experience: 

• Over 4 years of IT experience in IITs or other institutes of higher education.
• Experience in managing large computer labs with large number of specialized application software
• Experience in managing a team of 20 or more technical personnel
• Update/modify/install software/patches on large number of computers in short time via scripting/cloning or other techniques
• Experience in project management and ability to multi-task

Nature of work: 
The candidate’s tasks and responsibilities will include:

• monitor the entire activity across all the labs and report to the PI
• ensure timely opening and closing of the labs as per schedule
• manage online lab reservation portal and complaint management system
• coordinate with the lab staff of all the labs, coordinate with the house keeping staff
• Prepare roster schedule for technical persons manning the 10 labs in shifts from 8 AM to 2 AM
• Coordinating with lab-instructors and other user groups to understand and implement technical / software requirements for lab sessions/ examinations recruitment and student placement tests
• Manage and share activity reports of the labs with the PI and/or lab in-charge

Salary: Rs. 22000-2200-44000 per month based on qualification and experience

Duration of appointment: one year starting from 1 June 2017
