Kanpur, 28 October 2024: C3iHub, the Cybersecurity Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Kanpur, successfully concluded the ‘C3iHub’s Conference on Emerging Trends in Cybersecurity’ (#CCETC2024), bringing together global experts, entrepreneurs, and academia to explore the latest advancements and challenges in cybersecurity. The conference, part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, aimed to provide a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, addressing pressing challenges in the digital security landscape. It featured insightful talks, panel discussions, and showcases from start-ups and R&D institutes, focusing on domains such as Advanced Persistent Threats, Post-Quantum Security, Supply Chain Security, and Electronic Warfare. The conference featured distinguished speakers, including Dr. Charles Clancy, Senior Vice President at MITRE; Dr. Kris Gaj, Professor at George Mason University; Robert Martin, Senior Software and Supply Chain Assurance Principal Engineer at MITRE; Dr. Trishank Karthik Kuppusamy, Security Practitioner from New York University; and Dr. Nitin Naik, Technical Fellow at MITRE, along with prominent national speakers from prestigious academic institutions and organizations. The event commenced with the inaugural day's focus on Electronic Warfare and Post-Quantum Cryptography, featuring invited talks and panel discussions on these crucial topics. Additionally, a Startup Product Launch Event and Startup and R&D Showcase saw the participation of 11 start-ups and 12 R&D institutes, who presented innovative solutions designed to tackle some of the most pressing cybersecurity challenges. The second day continued with in-depth discussions on Post-Quantum Cryptography, Supply Chain Security, and Advanced Persistent Threats through talks and panel discussions. The day also featured a Startup Pitch Battle, where selected start-ups engaged with venture capitalists, showcasing their solutions and seeking investment to scale their impact. On the third day, Prof. Sandeep Shukla, Project Director of C3iHub, kicked off the session with an insightful talk on Advanced Persistent Threats, followed by a dynamic panel discussion. The conference concluded on the final day with a Valedictory Session graced by Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, who commended the participants and speakers for their contributions and emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration in cybersecurity. During the closing ceremony, Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur and ex-officio Chairman of C3iHub, expressed his appreciation by stating that events like these play a crucial role in fostering the exchange of ideas and building valuable connections. He expressed hope that C3iHub continues to host such conferences, establishing it as a premier event that brings together experts from various domains. During the valedictory session, Prof. Sandeep Shukla, Project Director of C3iHub, remarked, “Over the past three days, we’ve hosted a remarkable conference, bringing together distinguished speakers from abroad, the Indian Armed Forces, and academia. They shared their expertise on four critical domains of cybersecurity.
