wrote on 16th January 2014 It is a sad news that (Prof) Dayal Saran has left us reaching his heavenly abode. He was my collegue for about 18 years not only in the physics dept., but also when I moved to Advanced Center for Materials Science/Materials Science Faculty. Our association was very special as we willingly lived a simple life of helping & encouraging student community & others professionally. Not too long ago, I have talked to him from Texas & California about the purpose of final stages of our lives. He was fond of singing Bolliwood music of late Mukesh.Although he is no longer with us, the eternal memories of his life will always be remembered. On behalf of all his friends in USA, I convey our heartfelt condolences to Pushpaji & other members of family

wrote on 30th January 2014 very sad to hear about the demise of Dr Dayal Saran. Though I did not have much interaction with him, our PhD guide was the same, viz., the tough man late Prof. A. S. Parasnis.

wrote on 4th February 2014 Prof. Saran was Director at UIET CSJM University when I joined it in 2004. As an administrator, he used to tackle any problem in a cool and calm manner. He was very kind at heart and believed in forgiving rather than punishing his subordinates for mistakes. He was emotionally connected to the UIET staff and students. I visited him in his residence at Navsheel Dham quite a few times after his retirement and always found him with a desire for life. I wish I could obtain his blessings for some more times!
